WORK DESIGNATION. Depending on your location within the continental US, this role may be Software Engineer III
HYBRID or Software Engineer III
REMOTE.
* If you live *within 50 miles* of the Aflac offices located in Charlotte, NC, this role will be Software Engineer III
HYBRID.This means you will be expected to work in the office for at least 60% of the work week. You will work from your home (within the continental US) for the remaining portion of the work week. Details of this schedule will be discussed with your leadership.

REMOTE. This means you will be expected to work from your home, within the continental US. If the role is remote, there may be occasions that you are requested to come to the office based on business need. Any requests to come to the office would be communicated with you in advance.

* Expert Experience in responsive web page design and development
* Full Stack Web Development Languages and Frameworks including:
+ *Software Engineer III
FRONT END TECHNOLOGIES*- NodeJS, Angular , AngularJS or ReactJS, JavaScript, CSS, Typescript, HTML, HTM5, ADA, NgRx
+ *Software Engineer III
(OPTIONAL) BACKEND* – Java, Java and J2EE , Spring Boot, Spring Security and Spring Data.
* Experience with REST APIs, services and microservices
* Microservice style architecture
* Unit Testing – Jest for Angular; Junit for Java
* Experience working with XML/JSON files
* Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools like Azure DevOps
* Experience with Git and Git-Flow methodology
* Experience with a cloud platform (such AWS, Azure)
* MySQL Database
* (Optional) Experience testing Java APIs.
* Experience using a project management tool like JIRA or other, Service Now
* Experienced in complete SDLC
* Lead Medium to Large Projects (3-12 months)
* Proven experience with Scrum and advanced DevOps methodologies.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior developers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the design, test, development and optimization of customer-facing applications
* Collaborate in advanced stages of Scrum, ensuring smooth software delivery.
* Enforce and improve code quality standards, particularly concerning resilience, data, and security.
* Evaluate and incorporate modern programming languages and tools
* Implement test-driven development best practices
* Adhere to coding standards for resilience, data, and security
* Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs and implements software solutions
* Participates in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze development requirements and make recommendations for moderate to complex systems
* Tests and implements application modules from multiple systems the team has developed or modified, ensuring application meets the needs of client and business
* Provides design recommendations, developing and integrating programs per written specifications; occasionally responsible for writing moderate to complex design specifications
* Makes moderate to complex modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with written specifications and division standards
* Performs other duties as required

*This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circ*mstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $140,000.*
